poo

My shoulder is still healing and the boys gave me their crud.  The cough started this afternoon.  It was a quiet afternoon of cutting out quilt squares, drinking tea, and napping with Small Mister.  It is about what energy there was.  But I also got a dress cut out so I am hoping there will be something to show soon.  And not the ten dresses that are the same but I am loving every one!

I am also going to take a knitting pattern and make a crocheting pattern soon.  I actually crocheted for ten minutes today and did not hurt.  I was pleased.

newest pinny

This is my newest pinny.  I really like it.  It is linen and made from two previous projects.  Talk about about repurposing!  A skirt and a towel.  The skirt was actually a dress at one point.  This is my life.

We went and talked knives with one of my Beloved's customers tonight.  It was a good time and we were out much too late for a work night.  It is going to be interesting tomorrow.

hooks

I have been enjoying the bathtub but there has not been much in the bathroom in the way of hanging towels or anything.

The longboard we made was too much of a plank.  We are going to remake it.  My Beloved took off the wheels and the trucks of the longboard.  Then squared the ends.  It is still a trapezoid.  He hung it and put the hooks in.  We now have a place to hang towels and clothes.  I am so excited.  Especially for when I am giving Small Mister a bath.  Water gets everywhere!

a weekend of figuring out

I have been spending time at my sewing machine figuring out the best way to put sleeves on my a-line dresses.  I am liking this style greatly.  It fits well under a sweater or a pinny.  I can do anything I really want to do in them.  I feel lovely and elegant.  Since we do not have a full length mirror, I am not sure how they really look, only how I feel.

I think I have the sleeves figured out.  My Beloved laughed at me because it means I will have two new dresses.  One with sleeves and one without.  The one without is from the first test not working out quite right.  It pulled funny across my chest.  I recut the sleeves and bodice a bit.  When I finish the sleeved version, the true test is trying it on.  Let us hope it works!

It has been a weekend of boys under the weather.  My Beloved is still healing.  He is better then last weekend but the dizzies are still around.  Small Mister has a cold.  I had a lap full of small boy most of the morning.  Lately, as soon as he is awake it is "OUTSIDE!"  We have not heard that today.  It has been a good weekend on the whole.

until I can crochet for more then minutes at a time

I am spending a lot of time with my spinning wheel.  Crocheting uses too many muscles that connect to my shoulder so I start to hurt very quickly when I am doing it.  Spinning does not hurt.  I have lots of fiber so this is not a problem.  The problem is when I need to start using fleeces that need cleaning.  I hope I am healed by then.  It is like wrangling a quilt.

I am currently spinning this alpaca silk roving.  I picked it up the last time were went to the mountain, which right now is a blessing.  I have not even tried to turn my carder.  Guess which shoulder I usually use with that tool.  My Beloved keeps telling me to rest the shoulder.  I will keep spinning.  I hope I am going to have enough yarn to crochet an old Interweave Knits pattern, a Chanel type jacket.  If not, I will make hats and hand warmers.

When I am done with this roving, I am going to spin the Blue Face Leicester roving I dyed pink.  It will be sent to its home in Montana then.  Like I said, I can just keep spinning.
