motoGP weekend

I spent the weekend on the hill at the Turn 1 in Austin, TX at the MotoGP races.  Grand Prix motorcycle racing.  Now, I will admit that the boyos in my life are the ones who really love it.  I go because to be supportive.  Sometimes I do the Kid Zone all weekend with Koda Bear so Poppa Bear can watch the races.  Koda Bear has enough in about ten minutes.

If there is no Koda Bear, I pull out my folding rocking chair, sit down with my crochet, and figure ou the physics of Turn 1.  COTA has the worst Turn 1 but as any type of physicist, you start playing lines in your head that involve velocity and acceleration.  It is a good thing my second language is calculus.  I do say a few prayers that there is no carnage on this turn.  Last year, in two classes, there was.

The weather was such that I was wishing that this sweater was finished instead of just getting started.  I ran out of yarn on the back and worked on a shawl next.  The sweater would have been a nice change from the sweatshirt that said biscuithead.  I do feel the need to make sourdough biscuits.  Maybe this weekend.

did not get done in time for the easter box

I got another pair of pajama pants done for Koda Bear but I did not get them done in time for the Easter box.  I think I will send them with my Beloved to the mountain.  Koda Bear and my Beloved with Sharpening Chris are buying a tractor.  The boyos are SO excited!

I am enjoying the simple sewing I do not have to think very hard about.  Yes, today was a better day then yesterday but I need some time off.  We are going to the motorcycle races starting tomorrow but that is not really time off.

I am thinking that I need some gallivanting.  The possibilities just keep getting greater in my head.  Currently, I am day dreaming about going to the Oregon Coast while the boyos are on the mountain.  I may go visit for a few days but I might just spend the majority of my time walking on the beach or sitting in my portable rocking chair by a fire reading.  Possibilities.

Who knows what I may come up with.  But at least starting tomorrow afternoon there is a tent in my life.  I look forward to those times.

a bit of sewing

I have needed a lot of meditative activities.  There has not been a lot of energy so that means simple sewing and spinning.  Pillowcases are as about as simple as sewing gets.  I made another one.  New flannel.  It will fit in a tent nicely.

I cannot believe it is only Tuesday.  It has been such a week it really feels like it should be Friday.  Friday we will be watching motorcycles go round in circles.  I am going to be glad for the day off.  I think I need a longer day off and that makes me ponder.  New Orleans?  Beverly Beach on the Oregon Coast?  The mountain?  Just need some time off.

Tomorrow will be a good day.

more lace

My slow sewing project last week was this lace kimono.  I am still playing with lace.  I have one more bit of black lace left to make a slip with.  There are bits and pieces that may end up being little things I wish to try making.  I am really tired of clothes shopping.  Especially the little bits.

I am really like this lace pattern.  I am going to miss working with it.  I have a piece of plum lace next to work with but I have a few dresses and shirts to make.  There was a piece of lace I left at the store in a grey sage that I may pick up for myself as well.

Yes, I am the person who would wear a lace nightgown in a tent.  That is me.

quiet morning

It has been a quiet morning of carding fiber.  I have been spinning a bit each day.  I have a sweater I wish to make but I need the yarn.  Actually, I need to work with a bit of carding and spinning every day because I have so much fiber but the sweater is a nice piece of lagniappe.  I enjoy the spinning, especially in my current work environment.  Lots of change.  Possibility of layoffs.  Basic life.

I clipped a few flowers today.  I have not dug in a bed again but maybe tomorrow.  The vegetables are coming up well and soon my salads will be made with my home grown greens.  So exciting!
