ouch!

I wanted to play with seeds this evening after running errands with my Beloved and eating.  But I went to pull the first weed and my shoulders protested something fierce.  More healing before I can garden.  My flower and vegetable seeds are going in a bit late.

But I finished a simple dress.  This is the slow dress from yesterday.  I worked on it in little bits and it got done.  I am thinking I will wear it to work tomorrow just because I can.  It is really not better then planting seeds or drooling over snow boards, but it is still a place of balance and peace at the sewing machine.

Maybe I will get more stitched tomorrow.

slow sewing

I have been slowly sewing since we got back.  My body keeps saying that I need to rest or I may be getting sick.  This happens when life has been busy.  I hope to get this dress done this week and another started.  I have hand sewing to do as well.  I just need to sit but my Beloved and I went and played tonight.  I needed that as much as I need time at my sewing machine or spinning wheel.

quiet day

After sleeping for 15 hours yesterday, we took my boat out on Armand Bayou.  It is a quiet place and not too far.  It is obvious, from the sleep, that my mind and body needed rest.  I took a superman fall while snowboarding and my shoulders are reinjured.  This slow motion, because I just do not work that hard when I wish quiet, and the sleep seemed to help.  Maybe the bit of chocolate too.  I have had unproductive days recently and my Beloved says to continue so I can heal.  The quiet and the water help.

hands in dough

I am still trying to get caught up from being gone for a week and a half, both at home and at work.  One of the things that is needed it bread.  I was thinking about a cinnamon swirl bread but I also saw a recipe for milk bread rolls that I may try.  They were being used for lobster rolls but the author said her kids liked them with chocolate.  That just sounds lovely too me but I do like chocolate croissants.

There is a definite aspect of coming home when my hands are in dough.  The house is cool enough right now that it will take more then 24 hours to make bread.  That is okay.  I will bake it after work tomorrow.  Then I will try the milk bread.

More hands in dough!

straining infusions

I strained the last of the tequila infusions I was making today.  The tea may have infused too long or I may have used too much tea.  The tannic acid is a bit obvious.  The tea infused tequila actually foams up like cold tea when poured.  How interesting!

I made a margarita with the ginger and grapefruit infused tequilas.  It was nice.  I have a lot more tasting to do.  I think it was very interesting that the blackberries lost their color to the tequila.  This is so much fun!  A science experiment in kitchen.  I think I am going to have to try the orange with the habenaro or the grapefruit with the habenaro.  Too much fun!
