my fabulous worktable!

I pulled out fabric on Saturday.

And started cutting.

Finding more fabric

And cutting.

I ended up cutting out:  three tops for me, two shirts for Russell, two half bags, two dresses, and an apron.  If I tried to have done all this on the floor, which was my previous cutting surface, I would not be walking today!

I (heart) my new worktable!

Thank you Russell!

tea

I will not say today was better then yesterday.  That would be a lie.  All I wanted to do was come home and have tea.

So I did.

Tea and brownies.  Which was actually supposed to be tea and cookies but the cookie dough was too soft to roll in powdered sugar.  And I have no patience.  The tea is lovely.  The brownies are fine but definitely need tweaking.  Or just tweaked enough to be made into cookies.  I think it may take more then a bit of tweaking!

Russell has been working on my workbench.

It is almost done and it is beautiful!  Right now he is putting on linseed wax.  Then bees wax.  It is truly gorgeous.

More tea for me!

a belated birthday present

Russell said he would make me a sewing table for my birthday.

Almost a year ago, in October, I took an earth plastering class is Canelo, Arizona.  Russell brought his chain saw mill and milled desert walnut to bring home with us

Russell took apart a metro rack and just kept the bottom half.  He made me a work table top out of desert walnut.

Russell is still working on the top but it is almost done.  I will then make him the kilt he asked for.  I will need to find or build containers for the shelves.  Obviously, I am already using it.  I like it!  I want to be able to work on it.  I can also see it holding all the food for dinner parties...  More space on the table!
